Configuration File |
| Information: |
CFG files store settings for a specific application. They are used by several different programs and are typically saved within a subfolder of the main application directory.
Configuration files are often saved as plain text files and can be opened and edited with a text editor. However, they typically should not be modified, since altering a CFG file may make the associated program inoperable.
Many programs will regenerate configuration files if the original CFG file is moved or deleted. Therefore, moving a CFG file out of the original folder and restarting the corresponding program may allow you to revert to the default settings. |
