Golden Master

Example: "The latest release candidate of the software is expected to be the golden master."

definition Golden master is the final stage of the software development process. It describes the "Release to Manufacturing" or RTM version of a software package that is sent to a manufacturing facility for replication. When software reaches the golden master (GM) version, it means the development is complete and the software will soon be publicly available.
